Hi, I'm Olivia. call me Liv.

Originally a Perth girly, I’m now based in Melbourne VIC—2.5 years and counting.

I’ve been in the photography industry for over 10 years, working predominantly in weddings and portraiture, with the occasional commercial and fashion shoot thrown in the mix.

I’m also an artist and composer, often commissioned for original music, or involved as the visual artist in cross disciplinary projects—but I’ll keep that separate from here.

More importantly, I have a cat. Technically I co-parent with my friend who moved to London and I moved into her apartment and adopted her cat, but let’s not get caught up in the specifics. His name is Xanny—yes, after Xanax—and he is indeed, very chill. I didn’t foresee myself as a cat mum, but I couldn’t imagine life any different now… Given that this section of my bio is already this long, it goes without saying that he is my child.

My mum is German and as a kid we went to Germany quite a bit, visiting family and keeping that connection strong, it is a big part of who I am. I’d say that’s where I get my pragmatism from. Pragmatic, logical, but also, quietly romantic. This certainly comes through in my photography.

My work is both detailed and dynamic. I love capturing gesture and the extremes of emotions, be it a quiet moment, or loud celebration. Regardless of what I’m shooting, I shoot intuitively and in response to what’s in front of me—both lighting and subject—and I believe good photographic work is, on some level, always a collaboration.

Ps. I say more about my approach on my Elopements page.
